VASCULAR LESIONS
Laser treatments are now a routine procedure for the removal of many types of vascular lesions. The targeted chromophore for vascular lesions is intravascular oxyhemoglobin, which means that thermal damage is largely restricted to cutaneous blood vessels. The energy from the laser is absorbed by the blood inside the vein, converted into heat, and the vein walls are subsequently destroyed. In comparison with other wavelengths, which mainly affect the surface layers of a lesion, Nd:YAG light also targets the underlying vascular feeding system, which is important for ensuring the long-term efficacy of the treatment. This process is perfectly safe, as other healthy veins supply blood to the treated area and the body’s immune system clears away dead tissue, just like with a bruise.

Visit includes any physical assessments required and a discussion of holistic treatment options tailored to your skin. We will discuss the need for diagnostic lab testing if required. If you have had lab testing in the past 6 months, please have a copy of your lab results on hand for reference or send them in prior to your visit.

BOWEN THERAPY INITIAL (75 minutes) | $130
For patients who are new to Bowen Therapy and who have not yet worked with Dr. Khadijah. Bowen therapy is a gentle, non-invasive physical therapy that puts the nervous system into a parasympathetic or the "rest & digest" state, which allows for pain release and detoxification of the body. Bowen therapy is similar to a massage or an acupuncture treatment, in that the patient relaxes on the treatment table, covered by a blanket. Dr. Khadijah applies gentle pressure along muscles, tendons and ligaments in an attempt to release in that tissue. This is then followed by short 2-minute intervals of rest. In this way, muscle patterns that have resulted from an injury are released and the body can heal. The initial treatment includes a brief consult and a foundational treatment, which is then built upon in each consecutive treatment. Bowen therapy can be used for chronic pain, joint pain, headaches, reduced range of motion, strains/sprains, whiplash, concussions, anxiety, stress, digestive concerns, infertility, insomnia and much more.
