Frequently Asked Questions

What can DermalInfusion treat?

  • Hyperpigmentation (dark spots, sun damage, PIH)

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • Acne, oily skin

  • Congestion

  • Textural issues

  • Stretchmarks

  • Bumps, dryness, and discoloration on the arms and around elbows

When will I see results?

Your skin will be rehydrated and glowing within the first treatment. Improvements to fine lines, pigment or other skin irregularities take longer and require additional treatments. It can take several appointments to get the best results.

Is there any downtime?

The skin may appear slightly flushed, which will subside within hours. There is no healing time and you may resume regular activities immediately following treatment. To reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation, it’s critical that anyone receiving SilkPeel treatments apply sunscreen after the procedure. We also encourage you to avoid direct sunlight for a few days.

What can I expect during the procedure?

To begin the Dermalinfusion procedure, the practitioner will clean the face to remove any make-up, dirt, or other debris that has accumulated on the skin. Next, the handpiece will be applied to the skin and move along the treatment area. The Dermalinfusion hand piece is specially designed to exfoliate the outer layers of the skin, suction away the dead skin cells, and saturate the skin with the treatment solution. The serum penetrates the outer dermis to reach deeper layers of skin, infusing it with custom chosen serums full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and increasing the effectiveness of treatment.

Is there any discomfort?

Similar to regular Diamond Microdermabrasion, it is very gentle and comfortable, yet effective. People often describe the sensation as similar to a “cat’s tongue”. The degree of effectiveness is controlled by a widely adjustable vacuum in conjunction with varying coarseness of the diamond tips.

How many sessions will I need?

We recommend 5-6 sessions in two week increments for maximum benefits, followed by a maintenance treatment plan, which is often recommended every 4-6 weeks, depending on the individual, their goals and needs. It can also be done on an “as needed” basis or before a special occasion for an added glow!

Can it be done on active acne?

Yes! Unlike other Microdermabrasion devices, the DermalInfusion has a special handpiece for those struggling with active acne. The handpiece in combination with the DermalInfusion acne fighting serums can significantly improve acne and the scarring it leaves behind.

What is the LED Light Therapy and High Frequency offered in Dermalinfusion Deluxe?

LED Light Therapy:

LED Light therapy is the application of specific wavelengths of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. In the same way that plants use chlorophyll to convert sunlight into energy, high intensity light emitting diodes (LEDs) utilizing specific, proven wavelengths of light can trigger a natural biostimulatory effect in human tissue. Research has shown that LED light therapy can increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, kill acne bacteria, decrease inflammation, improve skin tone, texture and clarity, decrease under eye wrinkles as well as ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm, and pain associated with arthritis.

The treatment is non-invasive, painless, requires no recovery time, and can be used safely on all skin types.

High Frequency:

High frequency uses a glass high frequency electrode that is applied to the surface of the skin.  A mild electrical current passes through the neon, or argon gas filled glass electrode, causing it to emit a subtle glow and buzzing noise.

During the treatment, enriched oxygen molecules are produced that create an antibacterial action and a "natural" thermal tissue warming. This reaction helps your blood vessels push away toxins, while the cells in your skin are enriched with nutrients and hydrating volume. This in turn creates an increase in blood circulation and cell renewal that supports increased levels of collagen and elastin. The skin is left feeling instantly energized and noticeably softer after just one treatment.

Its many benefits include treating acne, enlarged pores, fine lines and wrinkles, puffy eyes, dark under eye circles, cellulite and, in some cases, thinning hair.
